5 Ways to Add Video to Your Marketing Mix

Video is where it’s at. Research shows that 85% of all internet users in the U.S. are watching video content monthly. And, the preference for video content is growing among a variety of age groups, not to mention internationally as well. If you’re considering a marketing investment to grow customer engagement, I’ll say it again – video is where it’s at. Done correctly, it can build brand awareness, increase sales, keep customers informed or be utilized to introduce products and services to a new audience.

Add video to your marketing mix

If your company is new to video, you may be wondering some of the ways it can be utilized within your marketing strategy. Here are five ways video can be used to increase engagement with your brand.

  1. Explainer Videos. Do you have a product or service that can be challenging to understand? Or, maybe you are in a technical industry and have many technical topics to discuss? Either way, short explainer videos can be great for showing off a new product or service, or sharing your expertise on a certain topic. If your brand builds an expert relationship with potential customers, they may be more likely to turn to your brand when in need in the future.

  2. Vlogs. (Video + Blog = Vlog) A Vlog is a great way to introduce your team members and your brand to customers. Show off personalities, display expertise and engage in conversational topics your audience may find of interest. This is an easy way to start building relationships with customers and gaining trust.

  3. Tutorials. Slightly different from an explainer video, the tutorial provides step-by-step instructions for how to do something. I know I rely on YouTube video tutorials for many tasks around the house, as I’m sure some of you do as well. Tutorials are a terrific way to show expertise and helpfulness, while providing a free service (aka value) at the same time.

  4. Live Streams. Your business is exciting, right? Sharing a fun event, presentation or activity live can engage your customers and make them want to join in. Here’s a live stream tip: make sure to have someone narrating the event so people joining in the middle will know what’s happening!

  5. Video Ads. This one probably goes without saying, but creating video ads is a way to garner attention from new customers scrolling through their social feeds. People tend to stop scrolling when they see video motion, so including a short video in your paid ads can increase the number of eyeballs that see your brand.

Video doesn’t have to be costly and it doesn’t have to be time consuming to produce. Integrating video into a marketing mix has been shown to increase customer engagement with brands. So…I’ll say it again…video is where it’s at! If you have any questions about how to utilize video in your marketing strategy, give us a shout at B2E – we’d love to help out!
